Photography Session @ the Empire

Couple of days ago ....

I, with a couple of friends, briefly went to Empire for a photography session.
We were aiming for the moon, but thought we would hit the sunset beach instead while waiting for the Moon to show up.

It's a good practice for me I thought, as I lack experience and practice in taking shots.
It was also the first time I've learnt to take long exposure shots of water as well, giving the water a unique look, like very very unique, interesting and beautiful.

Check it out here.

Not knowing much about Long Exposure Shots of water in the first place, it was a good experience to try it out and I could reference my friend's image to know what to expect. But with a low end camera, I had to wait till the skies was very dark before I could take the shot. The lack of ND Filter didn't help either.

Other than that, taking the Sunset was also a first for me too, which I've also uploaded for sharing. I have actually set up a camera in a high location during our photo session to take a time lapse view of the Sunset, but sadly, the camera was malfunctioning, and didn't capture anything at all. I was pretty bummed about this when I found out couple days ago. Sad but I plan to do this again one day.

Check out the whole Empire Album here:

Then wait, where's the Moon Shot?
Apparently we couldn't wait around for too long for the Moon to show up.
So we left, as we were getting hungry, and the sky is dark.

How to Embed a Photo from Flicker in to your Blogger Post the proper way

First of all, select the pic you want to share on flickr and view it under photostream.
Then click on the arrow turning towards right (it's a common symbol to represent sharing in some application nowadays).

After clicking, will then open up a new window for you to select the method you would like to use to share your Flickr image.

Select Embed (my preferred method) from the tabs on top
Select whether you want Header or Footers to be shown on the images (I prefer none at all which gives it a cleaner look. A simple mouse hover will show the header / footer information on the image anyway).
Select the Size you want at the bottom (depends on your blog post width as well).
The copy the highlighted embed code, and paste it to your Blog Post.

Remember to switch to HTML mode first before pasting your embed code.

And walah, there ya go:

You have surely noticed that there is another option previously to select for Slideshow.
This turn your image into a slideshow obviously.
It gives you or your viewer, the option to scroll thru the images in your Flickr account by clicking on the arrows on the side of the images.

Hyper REV no.4 Vol 107, published in 2005, straight from Japan

Just received this book direct from Japan, Fukuoka.
Printed and published in japan in the Year 2005, Heisei 17.
Mint, New and Sexy.

Its one hella lovely book if your into this Car, with many colored pages full of parts, body kits, rims and stuff.

This edition of Hyper REV specifically focused on the car, as seen below in the picture, i.e. Subaru Impreza GC8 & GDB Series.

Here is a sneak peak inside for you to know how the content looks like.
You can see different body kits and parts specific for the car on the below shot with description for each parts. Fully Colored <3

In some parts of the book, I've even seen dyno charts for parts performance comparison too.

Some pages are full of upgrade parts available for your ride.
Literally hundreds or thousands of them in there.
You'd never know, you might find some parts you've never thought of upgrading before.

Some pages have website addresses, company addresses and phone numbers and the likes to car related websites, thou sadly, those were printed way back in 2005, so I doubt their accuracy.

Only one issue, it's all in Japanese.

Not that bad really.

If you can't read Japanese, you can use google translator to take a pic to translate the text. But in actuality, if you've got enough knowledge in modding your car, you don't need to read the wordings. All you needed to know is the Part's Name and Part's specification (which happens to be in English mostly). Of course you've gotta recognize the parts first (if you don't recognize it, you don't love your car enough) and hella luv your car to want this book. It's like a bible or a reference book to all the parts you can use in your car.

The Moon - No, it's not a Moon Addiction.

I'm experimenting the best way to take the moon with this Camera for the coming full moon.

DSCN1208

And I sure learnt something today =)

I'm now able to reduce the glow around the Moon every time I take the shot by increasing the shutter speed 1 step.

I'm now taking the shot at around 1/400 shutter speed to reduce the lights coming into my Lens depending on the surrounding light. In some lighting conditions, I had to reduce the speed to 1/30 when the sky becomes darker.

To find out which setting is suitable faster, I'd use the camera's auto mode's setting as a reference point, and switch to Manual mode then fine tune the settings from there.

It isn't really that hard to drop straight into the Manual Mode, but this camera's response isn't as fast as the big brother DSLRs, so it's quite annoying sometime, especially when you're not familiar enough with the camera's sensitivity.

The sky is getting dark. I missed the sunset glow and all I could capture from where I was is the dark sky above. Good thing it still turned out quite fine. Hmm, it didn't actually rained tonight, where'd the dark clouds go?

Aiming for the Moon ~

I've been aiming to take a nice shot of the moon for quite some time now, using what ever camera I currently possess. With that said, I've been lining up my practice shots whenever I can find time and convenience to do so, leading up till the Full Moon comes out this weekend, and that's my ultimate goal for this Month.

So far, it's looking quite good with the practice shots I've been taking these few days, thou I'm not entirely satisfied with my shots up till now, but I'll take it as it is as I couldn't:
  1. Set up a proper tripod in place to take a still shot of the moon, nor could I afford a really good tripod and associated mounts and head for the job. So I've been taking moon shots on a 2000mm telephoto lens using my hands while leaning the camera and myself against something like the fence, top of the car, table, rails, whatever I could make use of at the time.
  2. Afford a Full Frame camera, or at least a APS-C sized sensor inside. I'm now only relying on a camera with a sensor size just mm's away from the size of a normal smartphone ... 1/2.3" Sensor.

Here's the first practice shot I took just days ago on the 13th of May, 2016.
It's a Half Moon. The image is rotated to align it like so.
DSCN1104

Here's my second shot I took on the next day, 14th May 2016.
I didn't rotate the shot this time and left it as it is.
I still preferred the moon from the previous day.
More training needed....
DSCN1170

And here's a shot from today. 17th May 2016.
I couldn't find a good shot honestly.
I had a good, high spot.
I had a solid rail I could rest my camera on.
I had the moon nicely in place for me to take the shot.
But still I couldn't get a beautiful, clear shot that I won't need to edit.
Could this be the limit of the Camera?
Close ... but I hope not. Cuz I've still got a lot of mileage to go for this camera, especially to last me a million years till I can fund my own full fledged, full frame, sexy hot feature rich DSLR with an assortment of Lens at my disposal. With a dang good tripod to boot!DSCN1206

As you can see, all my shots are of a different style with no standardized format, filtering, editing or anything. Hey, I'm still an inexperienced amateur, haha. It's cuz I'm still experimenting with everything. That's why you'll see many different styles popping up =)

Now with the Full Moon coming up this weekend, I hope I'm ready enough to take the best shot I can with my current camera. Also good to pray for a clear sky before that and maybe check the weather forecast first too ...

The Beauty I found in Agro Park, Tungku, Brunei!

Come see the beauty that I have captured from our local park here in Brunei. Agro Park!

Catch a glimpse of some of the beauty in the Garden House itself, it's the place to catch some cool from the hot sun after a good walk in the open. Actually, it's pretty hot outside there. This place is the place to escape the Sun while in Agro Park.

Check out my album slideshow below:
20160501 - Agro Park

It's really pretty hot there, can't say it enough. It's really hot.

There's no trees beside the paved walkway, so you get the full brunt of the Sun scorching at you, trying to barbeque you for good, from medium rare to well done.

I'd suggest you get ready that sun screen to protect your precious skin from the sun and use a big ass Hat to cover your face too.

You don't have to worry about drinks thou, there's vending stalls right outside the entrance of the Park to ensure you won't die of thirst in the middle of the *cough* desert *cough*.

There's also tandem bikes for the family :)
But I don't like their pricings, so yeah, those are up to you.

For those of you still puzzling where to find this place ... go here:

Dating Site for Mushrooms Found!

With an unexpected turn of events, I accidentally captured a pic of 2 mushrooms cuddling up together while having picnics. (the mushrooms, not I)

Only after post processing this pic, did I notice that there was other mushroom in that pic that was cuddling up together in the background.

Little did I know then until now, that what I had captured that day ... was in fact, a private dating ground for couple mushrooms to gather and ......

Here in the aforementioned picture below:

Cheers on my take of sarcastic jokes ;p

Serene Landscape in Temburong

Here's a try to post an embedded image from Flickr.
Never done this things before so it's a good test.

Pretty, no?

It's a serene landscape I shot when I was coasting on a long boat in the forest of Temburong, Brunei Darussalam, along it's Brunei River.

How to make your links in blogger Gadgets to open in a New Window

Here's another thing I've added to this blog.

Since I have some external link in this blog using the Link Gadget, clicking on the link kept opening on the same page. Meaning it moves away from my blog. Now this is very annoying mind you, since I don't intended to leave my blog just yet.

Now the main problem here is that there is no option in the Link Gadget to select for the links to open in a new window. That should've been a default option for us to select apparently, but guess someone forgotten to either add it in, or is too lazy to bother ...

No matter, there's always a way around it.

So yeah, I'm all googling for the answer and yeap, there's a lot of guide on the internet to guide you.

It's so simple in fact, it only took less than a line of code to make the Link Gadget to comply to my demands ... "open the dang link in another window and mind your own business".

Same as always, goto your template and edit HTML.

Once there, you'll see a bunch of codes.
Don't worry, they won't bite.

Click on ... Jump to Widgets, and select your relevant widgets, like PageList1 or LinkList1.

For me, I wanted the links in my LinkList1 to open in a New Window, so that's what I picked.

Once you've clicked on the LinkList1 from the drop down, it'll jump you to the relevant code for that widget.

Look for the id='LinkList1' and you'll know you're there.

Expand the code by clicking on the triangular arrow on the left near the line numbers to show all the codes under it.

Now look for a similar code as highlight below:
<a expr:href='data:link.target'>

That is the code that we are going to amend here.

PS: Do note that if you don't see that line of code or similar, in some cases, you probably need to expand more codes as before.

Make the little amendments as so:

From
<a expr:href='data:link.target'>
To
<a expr:href='data:link.target' target='_blank'>

Add the lines bolded in red above, save your work, and test it out :)

Cheers,

Life as it still is ...

I get bored of things real fast.

I've suddenly came back here and was playing around with blogger's template once again.
Some things that couldn't been done then can now be done with the default template.
No more hassles looking thru the internet for codes or guides to add in.
Not too much atleast.

But then again, there so little changes from my perspective.
Haha, nothing I really need I guess.

Well, all the images was deleted some years ago for this blog, juz cuz it was inactive, and looking at it occupying space in my g.account was annoying.

Nothing's been happening on the blog since then ...
Well I don't know ... maybe I'll try to start something back up again ... ?
Since Now I've a few more things I am much more into than before.

Like ...

My Car, I'm modding it up now and really looking into it. Research and stuffs.

I also bought a camera not so long ago too and now I'm fiddling with the camera with a few friends, so I'm starting to post pics up to flickr's now.

I'm not so into tech savvy anymore as I've given that up sometime ago.
No new hardwares are going thru my hands anymore, so nothing there for me.
But maybe occassionaly, I'll have some stuffs to post there. Who knows ...

I'm also not into latest tech phone too with a been there done that attitude to it, so no content of such anymore too.

Okay, anyway, lets see what's going to happen from here on =)

Cheers,
