Dell UltraSharp U2410 IPS LCD - Update

Here's an update to this LCD. Incase you missed the previous post, link here: Dell UultraSharp U2410 24" LCD Monitor

It's truly an awesome piece. It's not just a display kit. It's pretty much a sexy piece of art machine.

UltraSharp really is ultra sharp. But later about that.

My friend compared it to his high end Samsung LCD. And as with Samsung LCD, they are well known for having a brilliant color display. Their colors are deeper and nicer than most LCD out there. Well, U2410 is not bad it self. Not trying to beat Samsung at color, but you could say, they were actually on par. Not bad!

But U2410 does have it's advantage over the Samsung. It's UltraSharp branding. There are time when you're watching blue ray in a brilliantly display of colors, that you'd notice a small dark shade with a wording on it that seems ... less ... crisp. Slightly blurry on the end of the text and so ... but using the UltraSharp, you'd see the text in it's magnificent self. Awesome crisp and sharpness. Blurry gone! This shows you how capable this display is able to show you the minute details of everything! Clear and Crispy!

Gotta love them premium items.

Well, all LCD comes with a menu for you to configure it's settings.
This LCD is equipped with a touch sensor instead of physical buttons.

Look at the bottom right corner of the LCD on the pic.
You can see lighted buttons on the corner there. They are all touch sensor-ed.
Once you move you hands away, the blue led light will dim out, and you'll get a pure dark look.

Here's another interesting feature of the touch sensor buttons. You don't really have to touch it just to find it.
All you need to do is move/wave your fingers near the corner of the screen and the buttons will light up it self.
You don't even need to touch it. Sexy!

As you can see on the picture, a common feature found in quite some LCD, is a feature to turn your menu transparent. But don't expect to find this on every cheap low end LCD nowadays thou. Used to be quite some long time back. Hmm ...

Another lil' sexy thing about those lighted sensor buttons. Once you turn on the LCD. The display doesn't come to life instantly (Well, never saw any LCD come to life instantly anyway, it's a technical limitation I guess). It'll take a few seconds. Maybe 3 - 4 seconds. During this period, the led light buttons will light up one by one as if moving from the buttom corner to the top and back down again. Something similar like turning on the volume then back down.

All in all, this LCD is nice. Pay for a premium, and get a premium. You get a nice display with sharp images combined with brilliant colors. And you get some sexiness from a gadget point of view =)

Wonder if anyone has the 27" model for me to try out instead .... hehehe ...

Seagate 500GB SATA HDD

Meh. 500GB HDD.
Look at the blurring picture. Good way of censoring the serial numbers. lol.

Don't really use these sizes anymore.
Especially when 1TB's price has already drop to a very reasonable level.

Infact, thats old news. 1.5TB price has drop so much, it's actually worth it to buy now.

2TB is still a long wait, althou, you can get it for SGD250 in Singapore. Get one here? Slightly more definately, but hopefully not too much.

Hmm ... whose HDD was this for again? Oh yeah. It was an RMA item.

Watan Ho @ Dafu/Tafu (Bunut)

As I'm working around this area this few days, I've been mealing over at this restaurant.

Yesterday, I went back to my original habit to test out the Watan Ho in every restaurant I eat in for more than once (I usually forget on the first time).

This is my first Watan Ho in this restaurant. And it's the second day I'm eating here.

The things I like about their Watan Ho, is actually not really the main taste adder to it ... well, read on.

I like the way they present their meat. They slice it! They slice it thin. Prolly around 4 to 5 mm thick. An inch and a half wide. That makes it easy to chew on, easy to go into your mouth and easy to taste it better. I like it.

They even did it to their fish cake as well. Sliced it thin and wide. Slightly thinner I think. Prolly around 3 mm thick or so. Well ... I hate thick fish cake ... and that includes fish balls ...

The prawn ... quite big ... still fresh you can say ... better than those frozen over hell type with sold fresh already ... but big prawns carry their fishy smell/taste with them. The bigger they are, the more the smell/taste they give out. That's also teh reason why I don't eat large prawns. This prawn ain't that big. So the taste is still ok for me. Not so strong and not so bad :) And I like a fresh prawn :)

Now ... for the Watan Ho itself. SAUCE! What I'd say huh? Watan Ho is a Sauce base Kuey Tiaw.
The sauce is too little. It gets absorbed in really fast! And the egg base is not enough! Where's the taste? I want saulty egg sauce!

Keywords : More Sauce. More Egg. More ... Starch? oO. More Saltiness ... no salt please >.> And no white colored Watan sauce too ... sigh ...

Don't get the wrong idea thou. It don't taste bad. It's very edible. Especially combined with the slices =)
It's just not what I'm looking for only. Ulti Watan Ho Special ++ !!! Lol! J/k!

Kingston DT Mini Slim 4GB

Hey look what I found here.
2 little piece of DT Mini Slim 4GB sticks.
I wonder if they are still in my cupboard.
Gotta check when I go home.
Cause I need to return this to their rightful owner. lol.
Forgot if I've done that already...

I'm using one myself. Blue in Color.
Thier pretty small. Not as small as those super thin ones. But damn small already.
So small ... I've already lost 2 of them somewhere ... sigh.
Now using my third one.

Capless little guys they are.
Made of plastics. I've used one of them so much, that the plastic on the head actually cracked and fell of some bits on me ... poor thing. Poor me damnit. I've only used it for less than a year!

Won't lie about it. These little guys ... I've seen 3 of them that are defective. But that's no indication that their a whole batch of defacts.

Kingston DataTraveler 101 - 4GB

Another Capless designs from Kingston.
Nothing Much Special bout this one.
A friend past me this brandnew kingston for me to open up and copy some data for him.

Took a few shots of it and tested it out, and I only got 1 thing to really say about it ...

"Man does it catch fingerprints".

That metal flipping cap of it is a magnet for fingerprints.
Looks Nice ... not too fancy or anything.
You can see the chip inside as the body is transparent.
Feels Ok too. Quite Sturdy.
Slightly bigger than the Kingston DT Mini Slim, but not too big.
I also remembered slightly that it was ... slightly reflective too o_O
Not clear reflective, but dark metallic reflection.
I wonder if we can see our self on it.

Ran smoothly when I used it. No hassle as usual. No biggy.
Why wouldn't it? It'd be faulty if it couldn't. heh.

Cooler Master Elite 310 (Blue)

Cooler Master Elite 310 (Blue)

Well, it's a lower end case, so the box will also come as ... lower end box ... lol. You can see the specs marking on the pic too.

Lots of fragile stickers all around the box too. In fear of any rough treatment during shipping. Not that it'll help much or anything ...

Lets take a few more look at the case.

The front panel looks pretty. Glossy Surface. The power and reset button looks simple and nice, lies right below the floopy drive slot.9

The side panels window is pretty rugged looking. Even the fan grill is slightly tilted to match the ruggedness.

The USB and Audio socket is in metallic styled. Looks nices too.

Hmm. Guess it's designed to look nice. lol. duh.

Heres a look at the inside. Nothing much to see here. Pretty standard. Well, thats normal for a lower end case =)

The back's fan is labeled by Cooler Master. Well, at least it ain't some china brand stickers. Haha.

Hmm, they use thumb screws too. Good. At least thats more useful that the normal screws. You can at least unscrew it with your "thumb".

Look at the bottom.

Already fitted with rubber paddings. Not the kind of rubber you're thinking thou. It's more to plasticky type ...

Upside down, Pictured is also a view of the front panel. You can see the audio jacks, USB, FireWire. You can also see, a the mesh lining on the side too. Adds to the looks in a whole.

Not bad for a lower end casing. Pretty. Won't say much about sturdiness, cuz that's pretty ... standard too for standard. Not suitable for heavy duty class ;)

Removed the stitches from my mouth.

Finally came the day to remove the stitches from my mouth.

Now I can finally feel more relaxed with the stitches gone.
I can now feel my teeth touching each other after a whole week.
I can finally start to chew some soft food instead of just swallowing ...

Thou it still hurts a bit, it sure beats the discomfort I had when the stitches was there. I can also open my mouth wider now ... as it felt weak and limited previously ...

I'll have to relearn how to brush my teeth at the back ... lightly first ...
I'll also need to learn back the feeling and confidence in chewing too ...

Don't want to open up any wounds ... and the stitche wounds will take some time to heal up too. Bout a week or two ...

^^

Ugh ... Porridge ... no more thx.

Ugh ... I'm sick of porridge already.

From my first consumption of 3 bowls per meal on the first 2 days ...

3rd day and my spirit has dwindled a little ... 2 bowls per meal ... and the taste is fading day by day ...

4th day and I've started to only take 1 bowl hesitantly per meal ... and the taste is already gone ... plainless.

5th day ... Finishing up the remaining porridge leftover 1 bowl per meal ... lowered my intake, so there's still alot left over ... why is there so many? >.<

6th day today. I've informed on the previous day to 'not' automatically cook porridge anymore. I'm not taking porridge today at all. Don't think I can nor do I want to ...

Now I'm taking noodles. Yes! Mee Sua and noodles. Nestum/beverages aswell.

Still feel very difficult to eat at the moment with the stitches intact ... removing it tomorrow afternoon :)
Hope it works out fine ... >.<

Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" LCD Monitor

Dell's UltraSharp U2410 24" LCD Monitor

This isn't just a normal LCD with Ultra Sharp. It uses an IPS panel instead of the regular TN panels.
And that would cost additional $_$. This baby here cost over $700 bucks, while a regular TN LCD at that size can be obtained for half the price.

It's able to crunch out Max Resolution of 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz.
Thats a 16:10 ratio instead of the regular 16:9 ratio found on most LCDs.
For a computer's LCD, it's better with a 16:10 ratio as there's more space and pixels to use by my opinion.
Opining 4 IE at the same time and tiling them makes more sense that way as they are not too quished in on 16:10.

I'll let the www talk more about this one. Search the net, and see it's review. It'll tell you a lot more about this baby's performance. And since this is not mine, I won't be able to test it out ...

Oh. And with Dell, comes the 3 years of warranty too. Sweet ;) In this Country, Dell prolly has the best support reach here compared to some others =3

Yummy Porridge made at home

And this is what I've been eating these 2 days straight.

Porridge with nice shredded carrots and shredded chicken.

Good thing I can take alot of porridge before I end up fed up ...

Few more days of porridge to go.

Happy Working Guys!

While you guys are working. I'll be sleeping the whole day on medication ...

Got up this morining just to eat and take medication and I'm on my way back to bed.

Hmm both side of my neck is also slightly swollen due to the lower wisdom tooth extraction.

The upper teeth effects my head a little. Feeling some numbness and slight headache.

Page Hit Counter

Hmm ... was going thru my frens blog to look for any nice things to add on to my own and noticed that visitor hit counters and thought, why not :)

Gave it a click and saw that it's not part of bloggers gadget and it links on to another website that offers free counters and statistics.

Hey not bad. And so I registered one as I'm too lazy to go around and look for others ... plus free too ...

Well, of I go to add it in.
The registration is simple ... No email accounts needed.
Just select the counter image, a few settings for it, then a user name and password (optional) and your ready.

It gives you a code for you to paste it on to your webpage. But in my case, I'm placing it on my blog :)

Surf here if you're interested : www.free-counters.co.uk

Stale and Pale, now I've combined all my blog anew and renew!

It seems like I've not been updating anything on this blog for a long time now. Guess times must be tough on the beginning of this new year. So tough that even CNY 2010 was not spend worthwhile at all ...

Well, this time I've combine all the blogs to one and used labels to categorize all the different posts up! Now I don't need to manage any other blogs and just post away and label them.

Makes things easier these way, since ... PC Hardwares and Food don't really mix, and life and hints don't go hand in hand as well ... So heck! Label it and smash it all together!

Walah, new blog! Now to hope that motivation can be kept high and continue to update this blog!

Blogger with Three Columns

Did you notice that this blog has 3 column?
2 sidebar column and a single main column in the centre?

I initially got interested in looking for a solution for custom blogger template was because I wanted to use the template Minima Dark but I wanted the Sidebar to be on the Left side ... but there's no template for that ... and I'm clueless and too lazy to study the html codes just to move it to the other side. Besides, I'm not good at it, haven't done html for maybe 10 years?

Well, adding an extra column to the left side enables me to move what ever I want there, and have a spare column on the right side to add other jargons too!

Well, incase your interested in how to do this, surf here : Three Column Blogger
It'll show you how to customize your blog to add the additional Column.

Surgically remove my wisdom tooth today

Was having my teeth checked out on the dental clinic at old airport road recently to pull out one of my decayed teeth. It was the 5th one on the top row counting from the centre to the right side. Just as the Doc was going to checking it out, he had me go for an extra to see all my teeths (and the hollows of it ...) and it so happens that my 2 lower wisdom tooth was starting to go bad and had holes in it already. Not only that but the teeth wasn't able to exit properly and had bend in a horizontal position instead of vertical ...

So the doctor advise me to remove them in Ripas Hospital. Not just 2 of them, but 4. He wanted to take out the upper teeth aswell if the lower one was to come out ... ouch ...

Damn ... I hate dentistry ... Phobia ...

Luckily, I can opt for anasthesia and have them all pulled out in one go. Blacked out thru the whole surgery. Lucky. Pain is at the minimum now, but the medication does make you dizzy ... Nice is the Doc gave me 7 days Medical Leave thou. Hahaha. But gonna use that time to recover.

Went to the Hospital since this morning at 7:30am and finally got home around 6pm plus ... Now I'm at home resting. Unfortunately I can't sleep and my mouth is still bleeding. Slept too much in the Hospital and before already ...

Now all I hope is for the bleeding to stop and clot fully so I can enjoy my time. But this surgery isn't gonna recover like in a day or two ...

Going back to take out the stiches on the 10th this month ... ugh ... dentist again ...
